Firefighters found a woman outside of the home with two toddlers, both under 3 years old. Inside the home, upstairs in the bedroom, were four more children, ages 4 to 9. Authorities say the fire started in a second-floor bedroom, where one of the kids was playing with a lighter.

EMS transported the victims to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

Officials said the children were listed in serious but stable condition.

The fire has been ruled accidental. Damage is estimated at around $40,000.
