PHOTOS: A fire destroyed a home in Knox County early Tuesday morning leaving it a “total loss,” the Knoxville Fire Department said. Around 3:30 a.m., someone called in reporting the house fire on the 100 block of Lynnview Drive in Fountain City. Crews raced to the scene where they found the front side of the home engulfed in flames. Photos showed blackened stonework and smoke billowing from what remained of the roof.

Only one person was living in the home at the time of the fire, and they escaped unharmed, the department said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 3:54 a.m.

Crews were still on the scene putting out hotspots as of the last update just before 4:30 a.m. The cause is under investigation.

This follows a fatal apartment fire in Knoxville on Monday.
