Background
Megan is originally from the Portland, Oregon area. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Oregon, and has a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University, with an emphasis in strategic innovation.
Early in her career, Megan spent three years working in event logistics and student support in a university setting. Following her time at the university, Megan spent 10 years working in business operations for a large healthcare corporation. Her roles in the organization included employee development, performance management, mentorship, and talent acquisition. In 2017, Megan transitioned into journalism and began working for a small independent news publication
WFCA
Megan first became involved with WFCA at the beginning of 2020. She began contributing to the Daily Dispatch publication as a news reader, and moved into editing and publishing in 2021. Megan began her involvement as a content creator in 2025, and currently contributes articles relating to wildland fire, pre-planning, and fire career resources.
Family
Megan and her husband, Chris, have two children. Their family currently splits their time between central Scotland and northern Texas. Outside of work, Megan enjoys being out in nature, hiking, traveling, baking, volunteering, and spending time with family.
