A garage fire broke out at a residence in Alpine on Sunday evening, but firefighters were able to extinguish it before it spread to the house. According to the Lone Peak Fire District, at approximately 10:02 a.m. on May 3, crews responded to reports of black smoke coming from a garage.
Upon arrival, crews observed an active garage fire and immediately initiated a fire attack. Access was made through a main door and by cutting the garage door open. A second unit conducted a search of the structure, confirming all occupants were out and the fire did not extend into the residence. There were no injuries reported. The estimated cost of damage is unknown at this time.
