Camas Valley Volunteer Fire District says it has received five laptops through a national technology grant aimed at supporting volunteer fire departments.
The district announced it was selected as a recipient through a partnership between State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council. In all, 500 laptops were distributed to volunteer fire departments across the country, with 100 departments receiving five laptops each.
Camas Valley Volunteer Fire District said the laptops will help improve training capabilities, streamline reporting and enhance communication within the department.
The district described itself as a small rural volunteer agency with limited funding and said the donation will help it better serve and protect the community.
“We are incredibly grateful to State Farm and the NVFC for their continued support of volunteer fire departments across the nation!” the district said.
