Yreka firefighters were called to the scene around 6:17 a.m., where they said crews encountered large flames engulfing several vehicles in a tow yard. With assistance from the South Yreka Fire Protection District, Montague Fire Department and Cal Fire, crews contained the fire in about an hour.

According to Yreka Fire officials, 53 vehicles were damaged, though most were expected to be destroyed at a later date. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No firefighters or civilians were injured, according to officials.
