Two residents escaped a house fire in Maitland on Friday morning. The Maitland Fire Rescue Department said the fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. at 2011 Warrens Avenue in Maitland.

When crews arrived at the scene, they reported heavy flames and smoke inside the small house. Although they were able to put it out quickly, officials said the house’s roof collapsed.

Rescue officials said two residents escaped the house before the fire department arrived on the scene. Neither of them was injured.

Orange and Seminole County firefighters assisted during the fire. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said it appears to be an accident.
