Two people displaced after house fire on Tucson’s southside

Two people have been displaced after their house caught on fire Thursday morning. The Tucson Fire Department responded to a house fire report on the 2700 block of East Norton Vista, near Country Club Road and 36th Street, at 11:36 a.m. on March 19.

Hazmat 1 reported that the fire started on the back porch before spreading to the home and roof. “On approach, Quint 22 saw a large smoke plume from the area and called working fire conditions at 11:40 a.m.,” TFD said.

The First in Engine company attacked the fire with a hose line and conducted a search for victims. The fire was under control at 11:57 a.m. Two residents were displaced and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
