Houston firefighters at Falls of Point West Apartments

HOUSTON — At least one firefighter was injured while battling a two-story apartment fire at the Falls of Point West Apartments in southwest Houston.

Houston Fire Department crews responded to the complex, located at 5850 Parkfront Drive, after reports of an apartment fire on March 12. When the first units arrived, they found heavy fire showing from both the first and second floors of the building, HTX News reported.

Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack while conducting a primary search amid reports that residents might be trapped inside.

Officials confirmed no residents were found inside the building and no civilian injuries were reported.

One firefighter was injured after falling from the second floor during overhaul operations. The firefighter was taken to a hospital for evaluation and is expected to recover.

Video posted to social media by Houston Fire Station 69 showed the bailout of three firefighters from the second floor.

There was no report of injuries to those firefighters or what led to the bailout.
