On Sunday, March 1, Crook County 911 received a call from a 26-year-old Bend man saying he had become disoriented and needed help while hiking near Lookout Mountain in the Ochoco National Forest.

“The Crook County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue (SAR) team was immediately activated and deployed,” the Crook County Sheriff’s Office said.

17 people on the team responded with four snowmobiles, one Polaris Ranger, one K9 team, and one drone that was used in the search, officials said.

A Crook County deputy found Brian Ichkhanian’s vehicle at the bottom of the Lookout Mountain Trailhead and teams were deployed from multiple locations.
