Storage tent fire in Hanalei extinguished; no injuries reported

A structure fire was extinguished in Hanalei on Wednesday night, with no injuries reported according to the Kauai Fire Department (KFD). Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Kuhio Hwy shortly after 11:05 p.m.

When KFD crews arrived at the scene they found a 10-foot by 20-foot storage tent in flames. First responders were able to extinguish the initial fire and then discovered a fire extension to a shipping container.

The fire extension and its remaining hot spots were extinguished and firefighters cleared the scene shortly after 12:55 a.m. on Thursday. No other information has been released at this time regarding the fire’s origin, cause, and damage estimates.
