Teen assaults EMS worker after being stabbed in Honolulu

The Honolulu Police Department has launched an investigation into an argument that escalated into attempted murder in Kalihi.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, officers responded to a stabbing incident at a home in the Kalihi area around 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12.

Authorities said an argument broke out between a 44-year-old man and his girlfriend when her 17-year-old son confronted him. As a result, the man stabbed the teen during the altercation.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and rendered aid to the teen, who then assaulted an EMS worker. He was taken to a hospital for further treatment, where he was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree.

The 44-year-old man was arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
