Share

A person was transported to the hospital from the Eagle foothills early on Tuesday morning because of injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident, according to the Eagle Fire Department.

Fire crews, Ada County Paramedics and Life Flight arrived on site to find the patient “conscious and alert” with what they described as “lower leg injuries.” The patient was transported by helicopter to Saint Alphonsus for medical care.

The fire department is reminding recreationists to follow proper safety precautions when operating vehicles in the foothills:

  • Wear a helmet and protective gear
  • Ride within skill levels and avoid excessive or high speeds
  • Tell someone about your whereabouts and return times
  • Carry water, a charged phone and first aid supplies
  • Keep an eye on weather and trail conditions
