Plane crashes near Knik Glacier, Alaska State Trooper says

A small plane crashed on a remote airstrip near Knik Glacier Tuesday, injuring at least one person, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

The AST responded to a report of a plane crash near the glacier Tuesday evening. Off-duty medical personnel who were already in the area reported the plane was on fire and provided aid. LifeMed was notified and launched shortly after the crash.

The pilot was taken to a local hospital, AST reports. Witness statements were collected and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
