The Langston fire chief, who was critically injured in a crash, along with three other firefighters, while returning from assisting Enid tornado victims, was released from the hospital on Thursday.
The crash happened just before midnight on Thursday, April 23, along State Highway 74 in Logan County, involving Chief Bobby Anderson, Assistant Chief Brian Orndorff, Captain Jaye Bartels, and firefighter Eric Abrams.
While traveling back to Langston, they were struck head-on by a semi-truck and were then hit by another vehicle in the process.
The fire truck, which was also their main one, is a complete loss following the crash. They are now having to use their reserve engine as the primary unit.
