VIDEO: EV bursts into flames after slamming into power pole in North Hollywood

Share

Firefighters in North Hollywood worked to extinguish a burning vehicle after it slammed into a power pole late Tuesday morning, downing power lines. The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m. on Burbank Boulevard near Vineland Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department says the car crashed into the pole following a collision with another vehicle.

The vehicle, which fire officials say was an electric car, caught fire on impact. Los Angeles City Fire crews took a defensive position as they worked to knock down the flames. A nearby liquor store was temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Two people were reportedly evaluated for minor injuries, but it is unknown if they were taken to the hospital.
