Utah wildfire team aids Texas amid elevated fire conditions

Share

Four wildfire task force teams from Utah have been deployed to Texas in response to elevated fire weather conditions across the state, with one team assigned to San Angelo.

The four teams, which include personnel from Utah Forestry, Fire & Lands as well as local cooperators, will be sent to several Texas cities, including Jourdanton, San Angelo, Lubbock and Mineral Wells.

“Crews will operate 12-hour shifts, providing continuous coverage over the coming weeks,” wrote Utah Forestry, Fire & State Lands in a post made to Facebook. “Texas is actively promoting fire prevention measures and burn bans, and additional resources will help strengthen response efforts during this period of heightened risk.”
