Total Fire Group is thrilled to announce that we have officially become part of Ranger Fire and Security, marking an exciting new chapter in our company’s journey and a significant milestone for both businesses.
After more than 20 years of delivering first-class fire safety consultancy services across the North-West, we are now joining one of the UK’s fastest-growing fire and security groups, bringing our expertise to a truly national stage for the first time.
A Partnership Built on Shared Values
Since our founding, Total Fire Group has built a strong reputation as a trusted, consultancy-led business, particularly within the social housing and housing association sector, as well as a broad range of commercial and public sector clients. That reputation has been built on expertise, reliability and a genuine commitment to keeping people safe.
Ranger Fire and Security shares those values, and it’s that alignment that makes this acquisition such an exciting prospect. As Ranger CEO Mark Bridges put it: “Working with local ‘hero’ businesses like Total Fire means we can better ensure customers receive the expert fire risk advice they need and can then seamlessly address that through Ranger’s wider team of experts.”

Expanding Our Reach on a National Level
This acquisition represents a landmark moment not just for Total Fire Group, but for Ranger as well. We become the company’s first UK-based fire safety consultancy service provider, joining 16 other industry-expert businesses within the group. It’s a role we’re incredibly proud to step into.
As our Founder and Group Director Darren Baird, who will continue to lead operations within the group, shared: “For the past 20 years we have been working diligently to provide our customers with the best consultancy expertise, and with Ranger we look forward to expanding our offering on a national scale.”
That national scale is the key opportunity here. What we have built in the North West – a proven, trusted consultancy model – can now be offered to customers right across the UK. Working alongside Ranger’s wider team of specialists, we will not only be able to conduct first-rate risk assessments at a national level, but will also be able to recommend specialist, trustworthy services that take customers all the way from initial assessment through to implementation and ongoing maintenance.
A Fully Integrated Service
One of the most exciting aspects of becoming part of the Ranger Group is the ability to offer customers a truly end-to-end fire and security solution. Previously, our focus has been on the consultancy and assessment side of the business which is something we do exceptionally well. But through Ranger’s broader capabilities, customers can now access support across the entire lifecycle, from initial risk assessment and design through to installation and ongoing safety management.
Ian Teader, who leads Ranger’s acquisition strategy, summed it up well: “The company has extensive experience of the fire and security sector, and we are looking forward to working closely with the leadership team to expand their offering to Ranger customers – existing and new – across the country.”
Looking Ahead
