Share

After several days of intensive air, sea and shoreline searches, authorities terminated the search for 23-year-old David Soulik at 6 p.m. Friday.

The action followed extensive operations and careful evaluation of water conditions, tidal data, weather patterns, drift analysis and the total area covered, conducted in conjunction with U.S. Coast Guard Command and Guam Fire Department Search and Rescue Command, according to GFD spokesperson Capt. Nick Garrido.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences remain with the family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” Garrido said.

GFD thanked all partner agencies that assisted throughout the operation. The search began after a 911 call at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday reporting a distressed swimmer off Tanguisson Beach.
