Spokane Fire Department responds to water rescue near Gonzaga University

The Spokane Fire Department responds to a water rescue near Gonzaga University. Several crews responded to the water rescue at East Cataldo Avenue and North Superior Street. According to the Spokane Fire Department, initial reports were that three people jumped off a bridge at East Trent Avenue and into the river.

As crews continued investigating, the fire department confirmed only one person jumped into the river. The fire department said the known person who jumped in the river was rescued and is being transported to the hospital. The fire department said the Spokane Police Department was also on scene.
