Share

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Two boats and most of a dock along the Oregon side of the Columbia River at Rainier were burned in a fire on Sunday afternoon, according to officials. Just past noon, crews with Clark-Cowlitz Fire & Rescue were sent to a marine fire at Scipio’s Goble Landing, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

CCFR then requested help from the Vancouver Fire Department and Portland Fire & Rescue, Vancouver Fire said. However, the majority of the flames were put out by fire boats with Clark-Cowlitz Fire & Rescue and Scappoose Fire. According to PFR, they sent a fireboat to help with the response, but that boat was soon released from the scene.

At about 3 p.m., officials with Vancouver Fire said three boats had been lost, along with most of a dock. However, shortly before 8 p.m., firefighters said officials determined that only two boats had caught fire, leaving one partially submerged and one completely sunk.
