PAWS search and rescue dogs train at Fairbanks City Hall

Share

Fairbanks City Hall recently welcomed some special four-legged visitors. Members of PAWS Search and Rescue used the building for training exercises, taking advantage of the many hallways and hidden spaces to practice search techniques.

Handlers say the dogs are often called on to assist emergency responders across Interior Alaska during search and rescue missions. After the training, the group also stopped by the Fairbanks Emergency Communications Center to visit with dispatchers they frequently work alongside during emergencies.
