New MGA Ascendri Aims For High-Value Homes in Catastrophe-Exposed Areas

Share

Ascendri Insurance Services, a new managing general agency, has launched to address high-value risks in catastrophe-exposed markets.

Starting in California, Ascendri will provide excess & surplus homeowners coverage for homes with insured values up to $10 million, targeting a segment where it says coverage has become increasingly limited. The new MGA has plans to expand to additional states in 2027.

Ascendri, combining human underwriting with technology, underwrites solely on behalf of rated carriers and distributes products through licensed agents and wholesalers, including Acrisure and Wholesure.

Acrisure enabled the launch. It and Vave, which Acrisure recently acquired, have underwriting authority.

Denese Ross, managing director of Ascendri, said the product was developed with the help of California insurance agents.

“We consider each property on its own merits,” Ross said. “Our goal is to deliver strong, high‑quality protection at a competitive price—without forcing unique homes into standard boxes.”
