Man found dead in midtown Anchorage

Share

A man was found dead near a busy midtown intersection Tuesday. Anchorage police say there does not appear to be anything suspicious with the death, which occurred around the 700 block of East Benson Boulevard, where a shopping center is located with multiple businesses.

It was the second person found dead in one day, with Anchorage police responding within minutes of another call in downtown Anchorage. That response resulted in a man found dead near the Visit Anchorage Log Cabin Visitor Information Center along Fourth Avenue.

Police received the call shortly before 6 p.m. for a man found unresponsive. Officers and medics arrived to perform life-saving attempts, but he was declared dead not long after. The State Medical Examiner also responded and later released the body to a funeral home. Authorities are still working to alert next of kin.
