Man dies after mobile home catches fire in West Jordan

A man died after firefighters found him inside a mobile home that had caught fire in West Jordan Thursday morning.

West Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Travis Ball said fire crews were called to the area of 8500 South and Susan Way shortly before 1 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke coming from a mobile home.

While fire crews searched the home, they reportedly found the man inside. Crews were able to get him out and take him toa local area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has not been identified and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Ball said crews from West Jordan Fire, South Jordan Fire, and the Unified Fire Authority all responded, resulting in 25 firefighters in total. West Jordan Police and the State Fire Marshal also responded to the scene.
