Investigation underway for fire that damaged two homes in Kaneohe

VIDEO: The Honolulu Fire Department was called to a 2-alarm building fire in Kaneohe on Tuesday. The fire took place along Waikalua Place. HFD crews were called to the scene just after 2 a.m., and the fire was brought under control in about half an hour.

The first unit arrived on scene at 2:06 a.m. to find a two-story, single-family home fully involved in fire. All occupants were able to evacuate their homes safely. Flames spread to two nearby homes, which were brought under control at 2:20 a.m. The American Red Cross was notified to assist two displaced occupants.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause, as well as to provide damage estimates. No injuries have been reported.
