The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry released an updated report on the State’s wildfires Friday morning.

The northwest part of the state has experienced wildfires and high fire danger this week. Governor Kevin Stitt declared a State of Emergency for Woodward, Beaver and Texas Counties on Tuesday.

The fires led to many residents being evacuated.

According to the Department, the current totals of acres burned include:

  • Ranger Road Fire (Beaver/Harper Counties/Kansas): 283,283 Acres (est.) / 20% Contained
  • Stevens Fire (Texas County / Kansas): 12,428 Acres / 60% Contained
  • Side Road Fire (Texas County): 3,680 Acres / 75% Contained
  • 43 Fire (Woodward County): 1,680 Acres / 60% Contained
  • Poor Farm Fire (Latimer County): 9,000 Acres (est) / 10% Contained
  • 615 Fire (Cherokee County): 242 Acres / 70% Contained
  • Chelsea Fire (Rogers County): 126 Acres / 60% Contained
  • Hospital Road Fire (Carter County): 182 Acres / 40% Contained
  • Rattlesnake Fire (Osage/Washington County): 1,400 Acres / 30% Contained

Officials say the fire danger continues Friday in Cimarron and Texas Counties in the Panhandle. Although the fire threat is still there, cooler temperatures and lighter winds lessen the threat of fires spreading.
