Firefighters extinguish garage fire at an Ewa Beach house

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire in the garage of an Ewa Beach home on Wednesday evening. The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call about a fire on Maipuhi Street in Ewa Beach at 6:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. When firefighters arrived at the scene several minutes later, smoke was coming from the garage of a small single-story home.

Firefighters conducted an offensive fire attack and searched the property to determine no one was inside. They were able to get the fire under control and fully extinguished it at 7:31 p.m. There were no injuries reported from the scene. Fire investigators are looking into the origin of the fire as well as the cause. Damage estimates will be provided once the investigation is complete.
