Fire erupts at Palm Beach County sugar plant

VIDEO: Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews rushed to a commercial sugar plant Tuesday morning after a fire broke out just before dawn, prompting evacuations and a second-alarm response.

Firefighters were dispatched around 5:33 a.m. near 1500 George Wedgworth Way, where they arrived at a large industrial facility made up of multiple structures. According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, crews quickly located the building where the fire began and launched an aggressive suppression effort.

Video taken from the scene show the massive fire enveloping the structure as crews worked to contain the blaze.

A second alarm was issued to bring more units into the area as firefighters worked to contain the flames. The fire was eventually brought under control, and officials say no injuries have been reported.
