Faulty freezer compressor leads to Poplar house fire

VIDEO: Poplar Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Tuesday it said was caused by a faulty freezer compressor.

The fire broke out at a home on Poplar River Road at around 5:13 p.m. PVFD said the fire was mostly contained to the basement of the house.

“With a quick response and smart thinking from the homeowner we were able to save the structure with a minimum smoke, fire, and water damage,” PVFD wrote on social media.
