Early morning fire destroys two homes in Taney County

Two houses are a total loss after an early morning fire in Taney County on Tuesday, Dec. 30. According to the Central Taney County Fire Protection District (CTCFPD), firefighters were called to a fire at around 1:47 a.m. on Key Cove Road near Rockaway Beach. They say one family woke up to find a fire on the front porch of their home and were able to get out through the back door.

The fire spread to another house, as well as a shed and a vehicle. Both homes are a total loss. Two families are now displaced, but there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Western Taney County Fire Protection District and the Forsyth Fire Department assisted the Central Taney County Fire Protection District with the fire response.
