Bellevue Fire extinguishes garage fire, saves adjacent barn

Share

VIDEO: Bellevue Fire extinguished a fully engulfed garage fire on Friday that threatened an adjacent barn near the Barry/Eaton County line. In a Facebook post, the Bellevue community Fire Department said the fire was reported around noon by a neighbor nearly a mile away. Crews arrived on scene within five minutes, with an on-duty member responding.

Crews found that a fully engulfed detached two-car garage with a collapsed roof, and that the fire had extended into a hay barn. The on-duty members quickly began putting out the fire to protect the barn.

When additional members arrived, the main garage fire was extinguished. The main garage was ruled a complete loss, but because of the quick response, limited damage was done to the barn.

Bellevue Fire was assisted by Olivet Firefighter’s Association, Castleton Maple Grove Nashville Fire Department, Pennfield Fire, Eaton Area EMS, and Eaton County 911.
