Fire officials say a lithium battery was likely the cause of a fire inside a truck carrying recycling in Rotunda Tuesday morning.
Crews from the Englewood Area Fire Control District responded to the call of a fire inside a Waste Management recycling truck on Bunker Road.
When a load catches fire, the operator must dump the contents to prevent the entire vehicle from being damaged, officials said.
Water was sprayed on the smoldering pile until it was no longer smoking. Waste Management sent a cleanup crew to pick up the mess.
