Arlee firefighters report uptick in vehicle fires

Share

VIDEO: Vehicle fires are on the rise, according to the Arlee Volunteer Fire Department. The department said it saw nine vehicle fires in the Arlee Fire District in 2025. The department said the 2025 statistic showed an uptick. “Ten years ago, we would respond to maybe 3-5 car fires in a year,” the department wrote.

The department said vehicle fires can be extra dangerous due to the risk of burns and toxic gas exposure. It recommended that people experiencing a vehicle fire move to the shoulder of the road, get out of the car, move a safe distance away and call 911. “The longer you stay with it, the greater the risk of you getting burned or sick from toxic fumes. Keep everyone together and stay off the roadway,” the department wrote.
