Abandoned house catches on fire in West Valley

PHOTOS: An abandoned house caught on fire. Crews with the West Valley City Fire Department responded to the home near 3500 South and 4000 West at approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home was vacant and boarded up, but a car in the garage was on fire, as well as a camper in a side yard. As of 7 p.m., crews were still working to contain the flames. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not threaten other structures.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. South Salt Lake, Salt Lake City, and Unified Fire Authority crews also assisted with this fire.
