Eighteen families in Columbus are still trying to figure out what’s next after an apartment complex fire.
The blaze happened Friday evening at the Chanticleer Apartments.
It damaged multiple units, but fortunately, it injured no one.
Fire Chief Charles Yarbrough said investigators ruled it accidental.
In the meantime, the community and Salvation Army have stepped up to help those who were displaced.
The Salvation Army organized a donation drop-off campaign at Fire Station No. 1 at 205 7th Street South.
However, there’s a good problem.
The outpouring of support has been so overwhelming that there’s no longer enough room at the fire station to accept donations.
