First responders in Southbury school bus crash honored in Prospect

Share

It’s one of the worst situations imaginable — a school bus crash with children on board. One such incident happened two months ago in Southbury, and on Tuesday night, the men and women who responded to the crash were honored for their bravery and heroic life-saving measures.

Dozens of awards and medals were handed out, not only to men women of Beacon Hose Company No. 1, but also the dispatchers and everyone else who helped save the kids and get them to safety after the school bus was hit by an alleged drunk driver.
