Fire damages kitchen and dining hall at Valdez Airport Mancamp

A fire broke out at the Valdez Airport Mancamp Saturday night, damaging the kitchen and dining hall building. Valdez Emergency Services responded to the fire around 7:30 p.m. The fire was contained to the kitchen and dining hall building, and no injuries were reported. Officials said crews worked through the night to contain the fire. As of 2 p.m. Sunday, they were still on site waiting for the state fire marshal. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
