Five People Displaced as Fire Destroys Birmingham Home

Share

PHOTOS: A house fire heavily damaged a home on Ethel Avenue in Birmingham Tuesday morning, drawing a large response from first responders and sending a visible plume of smoke into the air. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service crews, along with officers from the Birmingham Police Department, responded to the scene.

A ladder truck was positioned in the roadway, with its ladder extended over the property as firefighters worked to control the flames. Fire hoses were stretched down the street, temporarily blocking traffic in the area while crews battled the blaze.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from a distance, with one of our downtown Birmingham cameras capturing the large smoke plume rising above the neighborhood. The home was destroyed in the fire.
