3 officers sworn in at Wilton Fire Department

VIDEO: Three officers were sworn in Thursday afternoon at the Wilton Fire Department Ceremony. John Edwards was sworn in as the new fire marshal, Michael Wydra was sworn in as deputy fire marshal and Justin Kolasinski was sworn in as a new firefighter to the department.

Kolasinski is from Moodus, CT, and is also an EMT. Since graduating high school, Kolasinski has been a foreman with Red Line Landscaping and is a volunteer firefighter with the East Haddam Volunteer Fire Department. Kolasinski also comes from a family of firefighters, including his father, mother, great uncle and another uncle.

Edwards has been with Wilton Fire for 10 years, and before that, he had 27 years with the Greenwich Fire Department. He previously served with the Connecticut Army National Guard. Wydra has been with Wilton Fire since 2013. He started his career with the Milford Fire Department serving from 1988 to 2013.
