PHOTOS: Four people have been rescued after their vehicle was buried in more than three feet of snow in Cedar Canyon. According to a social media post from Iron County Sheriff Search and Rescue (ICSSAR), a team responded to a call that a blue Jeep with four motorists inside it had been stranded in a snow drift on Highway 148 N. near Cedar Breaks.

According to ICSSAR, as they made their way up Cedar Canyon, they encountered areas of “snow and ice, black ice, and rocks that had fallen from the side of the mountain onto the road.”

ICSSAR was able to set up a staging area approximately three miles away from the stranded vehicle and deployed two snowmobiles and a Side x Side ATV the rest of the way to the scene. They made contact with the motorists and discovered that they were visitors from Florida and Brazil and were attempting to get to Brian Head Resort.

All four motorists were reportedly in “good health with no issues” when they were found, according to ICSSAR. The motorists were then transported via the Side X Side to the staging area and from there were transported by truck to Cedar City.
