Osage Ambulance District secures $2.4 million grant to enhance roadway safety measures

The Osage Ambulance District was awarded $2.4 million in federal funding on Monday. The ambulance district received the grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) FY25 grant program. The SS4A program is an initiative that aims at preventing roadway fatalities and serious injuries.

According to a press release, 521 communities nationwide received nearly one billion in SS4A funding, including dozens of projects that directly support EMS, fire, and post-crash response systems. The Osage Ambulance District stated that the award will support the development of a comprehensive safety action plan that focuses on reducing traffic crashes, serious injuries, and fatalities across Osage County.
