‘Line Fire’ burns 10,000 acres in Eastern New Mexico

Evacuations have been ordered for Nara Visa in Quay County due to a wildfire. Quay County Emergency Management says the Line fire has now crossed over into Texas. Officials say the Methodist and Baptist churches are open as evacuation centers. Structures are currently threatened. They say to please avoid this area if possible.

The fire is currently 10,000 acres and 0% contained. Highway 54 in the area was closed Thursday, but has reopened according to the Quay County Sheriff’s Office.
