$70,000 in damages and nine displaced from Ogden house fire

PHOTOS: Early Thursday morning, an Ogden Police Department officer was patrolling and noticed smoke coming from the roof of a home. Around 4:00 a.m., the officer reported the potential fire near the area of 2200 Monroe Blvd. The officer initiated a home evacuation.

Ogden Fire Department crews responded and confirmed smoke was coming from the home’s roof. After a quick interior search and confirming all residents were evacuated, firefighters began working on extinguishing the flames. The fire was discovered in the attic and it was contained in the area.

Fire officials were able to fully extinguish the fire within an hour. Nine residents from the home were displaced. They plan to stay with friends and family while damage is repaired. The home sustained moderate fire and smoke damage to the attic. The home is deemed uninhabitable until cleanup and repairs are done. The loss from the damage is estimated at $70,000.
