VIDEO: Seven people were displaced, and three homes were damaged in an early morning fire on Saturday, officials say.

According to the president of the Joliett Fire Company, Troy Wolfgang, crews responded around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, to a fire on the 200 block of Main Street.

Wolfgang said of the three conjoined homes, the first, where the fire originated, is a total loss, the second sustained severe damage and could still be declared a total loss, and the third house sustained only minor damage.

Due to the homes being conjoined, Wolfgang said the fire “could have been a lot worse” and praised the firefighters for their efforts.

The seven total people displaced included Deputy Chief Rosco Kramer and his family, and a woman who the Joliett Fire Company reported on Facebook sustained an injury while exiting the fire that will require surgery.

The same post also reported that the Red Cross is assisting both families.
